# Read a forecast

> Read the answer, the report and the sources, and compare earlier forecasts.

## Steps

1. Open the question. The top card shows the latest answer, the change since the forecast before and a note on what changed.
2. Under Report, choose Short, Medium or Detailed to read as much as you need.
3. Under Sources, open any page the forecast cited.
4. Under Forecast history, select a point to open that forecast. Choose View latest forecast to come back.
5. Open the menu on the forecast card to download the report as Markdown, Word or PDF.
6. Read About this forecast for the run mode, how the forecast started and its signed receipt.

## Good to know

- Set the report length that pages and emails open at in Settings, on the Profile tab.

## What the video says

This question has four forecasts. The top card shows the latest answer, how much it moved since the forecast before, and a short note on what changed. The report explains the reasoning. Switch between Short, Medium and Detailed to read as much as you need. Sources lists the pages the forecast cited. Each one links to the original. Forecast history plots every forecast for this question. Select a point to open that forecast. Prolepsia tells you when you are looking at an earlier forecast. Choose View latest forecast to come back. The forecast menu downloads the report as Markdown, Word or PDF. The side panel says how the forecast was made: its run mode, how it started, and a signed receipt that records exactly when it was made.
