# Save forecast presets

> Save the connections, standing notes and files you use again and again, and pick them for any forecast.

## Steps

1. Open the menu under your name, choose Settings, then Forecast presets.
2. Choose Add preset and give it a name, and a description if you like.
3. Under Connections, switch off any connection that forecasts with this preset should not use.
4. Under Notes, choose Add note, write the note and pick how AI should use it.
5. Choose Add preset. To add files, choose Edit on the preset, then Add file. When each file shows Ready, choose Save changes.
6. To use the preset for every forecast you start, choose Make my default.
7. On a question, open the button next to the run mode to pick a preset or No preset for the next forecast, or to switch single connections on or off.
8. To give a question its own preset, pick it under Forecast preset on the question page.

## Good to know

- A forecast uses the first preset it finds in this order: the one you pick when you start it, the question's own preset, your default, then your organization's default.
- A connection you add later is on in every preset until you switch it off there.
- Organization admins add organization presets, which every member can pick, and can make one the default for the whole organization.
- Schedules, automatic reruns and the live mode of a decision each keep the preset you pick for them.
- Each forecast keeps the preset it used, even after you change or delete the preset. About this forecast shows its name.
- When people besides you can read a forecast, its report may reflect the preset's notes and files. The start screen warns you before you start it.

## What the video says

A forecast preset saves the choices you make again and again: which connections a forecast may use, standing notes, and files. Open the menu under your name, choose Settings, then Forecast presets. Choose Add preset, and give it a name that says when to use it. This one is for forecasts that go to clients. Under Connections, switch off any connection this kind of forecast should not use. A connection added later is on in every preset until you switch it off. Add standing notes, and say how forecasts should use each one, as you would on a question. Choose Add preset to save it. To add files, choose Edit, then Add file. Prolepsia reads each file so forecasts can search it. When it shows Ready, choose Save changes. To use the preset for every forecast you start, choose Make my default. Organization admins can also pick a default for everyone in the organization. On a question, the button next to the run mode shows the preset the next forecast will use. Open it to pick another preset, or No preset, for one forecast. Below the presets, you can still switch a single connection on or off for this forecast only. A question can also keep its own preset, under Forecast preset. Schedules and automatic reruns remember theirs too. Each forecast keeps the preset it used. About this forecast shows its name, so you can always see what shaped the answer.
