# Ask a question

> Write a question, let AI draft the details, or import one from a prediction market.

## Steps

1. In the Library, choose New question.
2. To copy a question from Kalshi, Polymarket or Metaculus, paste its link into Import from URL and choose Import.
3. Otherwise, write your question in Question. A good question is clear, has an end date and has an outcome someone can check later.
4. Pick a Question type, or leave it empty and let the AI choose.
5. Choose Complete with AI. Prolepsia drafts the description and the resolution criteria from your title.
6. Read the draft and change anything that is not right.
7. Under Review assumptions, choose Yes, keep this for each assumption you agree with, or No, change it to correct it.
8. Add notes or files under Additional forecast context if every forecast should read them.
9. Choose Create question to save it, or Run forecast to save it and start a forecast straight away.

## Good to know

- Drafting with AI costs no credits. A forecast does.
- You can edit the wording and the details after you create the question.
- To start from the shape of a question you ask often, pick a template under Start from a template at the top of the form.

## What the video says

To ask a question, open the Library and choose New question. If the question already exists on a prediction market, paste its Kalshi, Polymarket or Metaculus link into Import from URL. Otherwise, write your own. Write the question in plain words. A good question is clear, has an end date, and has an outcome that someone can check later. Pick the question type, or leave it empty and let the AI choose. This one is a yes or no question. Now click Complete with AI. Prolepsia drafts the description and the resolution criteria from your title. Drafting costs no credits. Read the draft and change anything that is not right. The resolution criteria say exactly how the answer will be checked. When the AI had to assume something, it asks you under Review assumptions. Keep each assumption, or tell it what to change. Under Additional forecast context you can add notes or files that every forecast for this question should read. Create question saves it without starting a forecast. Run forecast saves it and starts a forecast straight away. Your question now has its own page in the Library, ready for its first forecast.
